Note: Category based schemas will not be supported for 2009
Wisconsin is pleased to announce that it will be participating in the Fed/State 1120 e-file project for the electronic filing of corporate income and franchise and partnership tax returns for tax year 2009.
This project, done under the umbrella of the Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA) is a joint effort between the IRS, numerous states, software vendors and other private businesses. Returns for the IRS and participating states can be transmitted to a single point (the IRS).
The Fed/State program includes:
- Electronically file Wisconsin corporation franchise and income tax returns with the federal return in a single electronic transmission!
- You may also file the Wisconsin return alone.
- Single point User Authentication will be provided by IRS.
- Returns are transmitted through a secure Internet site accessible only to registered users using Extensible Markup Language (XML) technology.
- The IRS will forward the Wisconsin returns to the Department of Revenue for processing. Wisconsin will return acknowledgements back to the IRS, where they can be picked up by transmitters.
- Each return will be acknowledged separately.
- Submissions and acknowledgements will be returned in XML format.
- PDF attachments are supported.
- The Federal and various state returns are zipped together in a single submission.
The Wisconsin program includes:
- Forms 3, 4, 5 and 5S and most major supporting schedules (see user guide for details).
- Option of Direct Deposit of refunds.
- Option of Direct Debit (ACH Debit origination) for balances due.
- Direct Debit requests allow warehousing up to one year.
- Option to pay by check (corporations only) using a Corporation Electronic Payment Voucher.
- Listing of eligible forms for 2009.
