Under 2023 Wisconsin Act 19, the Joint Finance Committee (JFC) approved payments to local governments for the loss in taxable property value as a result of the Court of Appeals decision Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin v. Evers.
