Today, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR), on behalf of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury), distributed the second payment of the American Rescue Plan Act – State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (ARPA-SLFRF) to Wisconsin non-entitlement units of government (NEUs).

- 1,824 municipalities received funds –

- Municipalities received the funds in the same account used for shared revenue – this could be ACH, LGIP or check based on information provided by the municipality
- If funds are deposited into an interest-bearing account, municipalities do not have to remit interest to Treasury

Note: Due to the federal holiday, the payments may be posted on Tuesday, June 21, 2022
Reminder – local governments can use up to $10 million (not more than your award amount) to fund government services. Examples:
- Construction of schools and hospitals
- Road building and maintenance and other infrastructure
- General government administration, staff and administrative facilities
- Providing police, fire and other public safety services (including purchase of fire trucks and police vehicles)
Other ARPA-SLFRF uses also include, but not limited to:
- Support public health expenditures
- Address negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency
- Replace lost public sector revenue
- Provide premium pay for essential workers
- Invest in water, sewer and broadband infrastructure
