As a reminder, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR), State and Local Finance Division posted the shared revenue estimates below on our website. We sent notices electronically or by postal mail to municipal and county clerks on Friday, September 15.
Estimate Details
Shared Revenue estimates provide amounts each municipality and county will receive for county and municipal aid, supplemental county and municipal aid, expenditure restraint incentive program aid, and utility aid under sec. 79.02, Wis. Stats.
Available estimates
- 2023 shared revenue revised estimates – payments distributed on November 20, 2023
- 2024 shared revenue original estimates – payments distributed in July and November 2024
2023 WI Act 12 Law Change
New supplemental county and municipal aid payment:
- Beginning with the distributions in 2024
- Review the calculation spreadsheet for details
- Aid must be used for – law enforcement, fire protection, emergency medical services, emergency response communications, public works, courts, and/or transportation
- Aid cannot be used for – administrative services. Administrative services includes expenditures of the county executive or administrator, chief executive (mayor, manager, president, or administrator), clerk, personnel office, all election costs, census cost, and expenditures of administrative service departments such as data processing, central duplicating, or printing.
