To: Utility customers
Next month, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue is upgrading the utility annual filing process for the 2023 filing season. We are moving the annual reports into our My Tax Account (MTA) e-filing system. This e-filing system rolls out on January 23 and is a one-stop shop for account management, form filing, and bill payment.
MTA Benefits
-
Familiar – the changeover to MTA consolidates tax filing to a system most businesses already use to file and pay business taxes
-
Ease of use – MTA allows authorized users to complete many tasks, such as:
- Request extensions
- File returns
- Make penalty payments
- Modify and manage user access
-
Secure – no downloading forms using third-party software
Next Steps
You or your representative must be registered as a user in MTA to e-file your annual reports. If you or your representative are:
- Already registered, you don't need to do anything at this time
- Not registered, please do the following to create a username and password
- Go to MTA Logon screen:
https://tap.revenue.wi.gov/mta/_/
- Click "New? Create new username"
- Complete registration steps and contact DOR Utility to gain access to your specific company's account
Note
-
Transition details – we will continue to keep you informed throughout this process
-
Utility forms – will be live in MTA on January 23, 2023
