If you have already classified your business as a manufacturer for property tax purposes with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, you may sign up for My Tax Account to file manufacturing returns. If you need your business classified as a manufacturer with us,
review Manufacturing Classification for Property Tax Purposes. If you are a business owner (owner of a corporation, partnership, LLC or a sole proprietorship) or employee, property owner follow the steps below.

Select New? Create new username and follow the steps below
Step 1: Logon Information
- Each My Tax Account user needs their own username. Enter a unique username, password, and profile email address. For security reasons, don't share this information with anyone else.
- Question "Are you a third-party preparer?" – as a property owner, business owner or employee, select No
- If you had a My Tax Account username previously, but can't remember it, select
Forgot username or password? on the My Tax Account login screen
Step 2: Customer Information
- The first user to request access automatically receives 'Master' level access. All other users will receive 'Account Manager' access. The user with 'Master' access will manage the access of all 'Account Manager' users and third-party preparers.
- Enter the business information for the primary business on My Tax Account
- Sole proprietors may use their personal information
Step 3: Active Business
Select
Yes if you are a manufacturer registering to file your M-Form. Select
No if you are one of the following:
- An individual registering your Collection Amount
- A third-party preparer
- A state agency or local government registering for SDC or TRIP
- Registering to make Real Estate Transfer fee payments
- Setting up a Wage Attachment Account
If you selected No in Step 3, you will not have access to your manufacturing accounts. If you don't have the required information while you're registering, you can select No and add access to your accounts after you log in the first time.
Step 4: Account Access
- If you selected No in Step 3, select Submit in the lower right corner to create your My Tax Account username
- For users that selected Yes in Step 3, select your Tax Account Type, enter the last nine digits of the State ID Number and total (YP or YR) balance from prior return or Letter ID
- Select Submit to create your My Tax Account username

If you are a third-party preparer (an independent accountant or an owner/employee of an accounting firm), follow the steps below.
Step 1: Enter Profile Information
- Each My Tax Account user needs their own username. Enter a unique username, password, and profile email address. For security reasons, don't share this information with anyone else.
- Are you a third-party preparer? As an independent accountant or an owner/employee of an accounting firm, select Yes.
- If you had a My Tax Account username previously, but can't remember it, select Forgot username or password on the My Tax Account login screen
Step 2: Enter Business Information
Enter your accounting firm's information (not your client's information) to complete the Customer Access Request. You may then request access to client accounts by logging back into My Tax Account and using the "Add Third-Party Account Access" link. Use the "Add Access to an Account" link to add the tax accounts for the accounting firm.
Request Access to Client Accounts
To request access to client's manufacturing accounts, follow the steps below:
- Log in to My Tax Account
- Select Manage My Profile in the upper right
- Select More... and then select Add Access to a Third-Party Account
- For manufacturing returns, select No and select Next
- Select Add Client and enter the required fields
- Select Submit for confirmation
Note: An email will be sent to My Tax Account 'Master' account holder as notification of your request. If the account owner does not have a Master My Tax Account logon, they will receive a letter about your access request. The access request will be automatically approved, and the tax account(s) will appear on your homepage.
